Duties:

Description: Under general supervision and in accordance with established PFCU policies and procedures and state and federal regulations, performs information systems administrative procedures and maintains documentation covering multiple functional areas, including data control, applications training, data coordination and scheduling, and data security administration. Knowledge of commonly used information technology concepts, practices and procedures, and the ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Installs or modifies data communications systems. Provides technical support and consultation in the use and operations of complex computer operating systems.
  • Investigates new techniques, equipment, and data processing methods. Evaluates technical requirements for new or upgrades in hardware/software.
  • Designs and maintains systems documentation according to applicable policies and standards. Ensures that documentation meets all security regulations for the credit union.
  • Coordinates technology resources including main system, telecommunications network, telephone system(s), and personal computer connectivity.
  • Investigates Symitar program or system errors, defines problems, debugs programs, test results and implements changes as needed.
  • Provides technical support for Symitar platform for Symforms, Synergy and power-ons.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all credit union products and services, organizational policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations related to credit union operations. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and understanding current trends, laws, issues, and best practices affecting area of expertise. Attends meetings, conferences, courses, and workshop that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union. This includes but not limited to BSA/AML Compliance Training and understanding employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program.
  • Observes internal controls, confidentiality and security of all Credit Union, member, and employee information, and adheres to the highest level of business ethics and discretion.
  • Is security conscious and keeps work areas neat and clean.
  • Supports a team-oriented environment in the workplace and represents the Credit Union, Board of Directors and Management team in the best possible light at all times.
  • Participates in job-related training and employee and departmental meetings as required.
  • May occasionally be required to work non-standard hours and/or be on call.
  • Assists in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years Symitar experience.
  • Experience with system administration tools computer and customer support and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to research and analyze systems and data and suggest appropriate resolutions.
  • Effective written/verbal communication, organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines, either independently or as part of a cross-functional team, without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.
  • Computer usage requires repetitive keystrokes and manual dexterity.
  • Requires sitting, speaking on the phone, and using the computer for extended periods of time, lifting up to 25 pounds, and some bending and stretching.
  • Must be able to see, hear and use a telephone and read, write, speak and type English fluently. (Bilingual skills are helpful but not required.)

Additional Desired Attributes:

Education and Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Information Technology or related field, from an accredited university, required (bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Credit union experience and proficiency in Jack Henry financial services programs (i.e.: Episys, Document Manager, etc.) is a plus.
  • Equivalent combination of education, skills, qualifications, and experience will be considered.
  • All applicants must have a clean criminal background and credit check.
